Synopsis

This valuable resource encourages First Nation readers, particularly youth, to take action and get involved in their communities. Written in the first person, in this part personal-biography and part "how-to" guide, the author relates his journey from his challenging childhood on reserve to the leadership roles which he took on in his community and beyond.

The book touches on topics such as First Nation citizenship, and the reservation system, and provides grounded suggestion on how readers can take on an active role in their communities, such as volunteeing at community events and communities to running for elected office.
