About the Author

Jackie Maguire was born in Worcester, England, but emigrated to Calgary, Canada as a child. She studied for a bachelor's degree in sociology, and worked in courts and prisons before moving into public education and teaching English. She did a study of teaching English in prisons for her master's degree. She taught is several countries including Findland and Japan. Two things Jackie loved most about travelling to different countries were going to local festivals and sampling the local food.
