Series Synopsis
This innovative series shows students how to respond in writing to various types of literature - both fiction and non-fiction - by identifying, analyzing, and interpreting. The books guides students through a step-by-step process which begins with:
reading and understanding a passage/assignment
deciding what to write and how to organize their writing
explaining their ideas and including examples
drafting, revising and editing
Students will also learn about identifying and analyzing plot and setting, character development, point of view, literary devices, figurative language and themes.
The five Student Books can be used to accommodate differentiated instruction, allowing instructors to give the same assignment to students using books at various reading levels. Teacher's Guides contain key instructional points to cover and an answer key. Levels available in this series:
