About the Series
Using a Dictionary provides students with instruction and practice in the skills needed to use a dictionary effectively.
Exercises in each of the lessons proceed from structured and controlled to more abstract activities. Each lesson contains one challenging activity, requiring students to strive for independent or personalized responses. An Answer Key is included in each workbook.

Using a Dictionary 1: This preliminary workbook provides a comprehensive overview of key dictionary features. Ideal for beginner students, it includes concise explanations, repeated exercise formats, simplified vocabulary, more basic verb forms, limited passives, and shorter sentences in explanations.
Using a Dictionary 2: Once students have mastered Using a Dictionary 1, they will be ready for this next level where they will encounter longer sentences with detailed explanations, repeated exercise formats, more use of passives, and more multi-syllabic vocabulary.
